This is a mirror of ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/3/en/RHAPS This was built by RedHat except for java-1.4.2-sun-compat-1.4.2.07-1jpp.noarch.rpm. RedHat is providing it WITHOUT support. If you need support then buy their supported version. http://www.redhat.com/software/rha/appserver We have added java-1.4.2-sun-compat-1.4.2.07-1jpp.noarch.rpm as many of the rpms included here have dependencies on Java . If you installed the Java from Sun the rpms here would not know about it even if they are rpms because the rpms from Sun do NOT provide dependencies even though the rpm contains the files for the dependency. So java-1.4.2-sun-compat-1.4.2.07-1jpp.noarch.rpm is really just a container rpm that provides dependency info and also makes file system links. You still need to install the j2sdk rpm from Sun. It is located at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html Select the version that matches the above version. I have provided a yum.conf.rhaps for Scientific Linux which points to this area. It has only a reference to to this rhaps. You may need to append just the rhaps section to your yum.conf if the rpms in rhaps have dependencies on rpms in the base area. -Connie Sieh
